Out and About in Brussels

Today we went for a walk around our neighbourhood. We discovered that the IKEA is within walking distance (although it is closed every Sunday of the year except for December 23rd). As you can see in the picture, we are experiencing typical Belgium weather, overcast and about 12 degrees Celsius (54 Fahrenheit). Not that we're complaining! Both Michael and I are finding this weather a welcome change from the days that were still in the 80s Fahrenheit in mid-October in North Carolina. In addition to finding the IKEA, we discovered that my office is only a 10-minute walk from our apartment (that's me posing with the Maltese poster outside the office). My first day starts tomorrow at 9am! Finally, I wanted to post a picture of our apartment from the outside. We're at a pretty major intersection, but the entrance is just off a cute little side street, just past the glass windows to the right of the picture.

This is quite amazing. Thank you so much for sharing these great pictures of your new abode.

Nice try Michael at making it look as though you had to wait for Jane to arise due to jet lag! We all know the truth and Ikea does have good beds!!

Thanks for sharing and the great photos.
